Thursday night, we had dinner at Will and Marika’s for our weekly LOST night. Addie and JP were having a good time together, with JP singing to her and Addie moving her hands in excitement. JP is now 3 years old and his vocabulary is quite impressive. Here they are having fun!

Can we buy new clothes with this money Mommy?
New York City!! I matched to my top site, Pace University!! I was thrilled when I read the email because I had really fallen in love with that site. The start date is September 2nd, which will hopefully give Derek plenty of time to find a job and will give us enough time to find an apartment and move. For everyone who reads this blog, if you know of job openings in the IT world in New York City, please let us know, we will take all the help we can get!
We went to TJ and Christine’s baby shower today and had a great time. Whenever Leonard invites you to a BBQ, you say yes, knowing that the food will be absolutely delicious – and it was. Adelaide got to meet their 3 dogs, who are all quite large. Now, when I say large, I want you to double whatever you are picturing in your mind, because that is how large those dogs are! In fact, some may be tempted to classify them as horses. Evidence, you ask? Here you go.

Orion, who yes, could wear the same size shoes as Dad
**Note: The purse Genevieve is holding is not hers, but Audrey. I’m sure she would want me to assure this blog’s faithful readers that she does not own a purple purse.**

Destiny, the Great Dane (need I say more regarding said size)
Here are some more pictures from the BBQ/shower.

Who's cute?
I bought some hairclips today that actually stay in her hair rather than falling out. Hopefully this will end the “what-a-cute-boy” phenomenon!

Yesterday, Adelaide had many playdates – she has made quite a few friends already! We spent the afternoon with Elizabeth, Rebecca and Wanda, Elizabeth’s mom at Victoria Gardens. We did our usual lunch with shopping and coffee. Rebecca was having fun giving Adelaide her banana puffs and the girls had a wonderful time as always. Here they are playing together.
We then went over to Camille and James’ house to see Sophia. The girls played side by side and Adelaide seemed fascinated by the fact that Sophia was able to crawl – I’m hoping she was able to take note of Sophia’s technique!

Sophia loves to stand
We then headed over to Kara and James’ house for LOST night and Addie was able to play with JP. He was very intrigued as to why she could not feed herself with the spoon, it was really cute! Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the two of them…
After such a busy day, I decided today would be a good day to stay in and relax. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
As the title may have eluded to, I matched!!! I am so happy! Last night, I was surprised I was actually able to go to bed and fall asleep pretty easily. I did wake up randomly at 5:30am though, promptly checked my email, and there it was! Thank you so much dear family and friends, for all your thoughts and prayers. Now, the waiting starts over, until monday morning when I find out where I will be spending the next year!
Well folks, it’s getting really close to match day, in fact we are looking at less than 48 hours… I had a dream two days ago that the director of clinical training called my cell phone early in the morning on match day to have me “process” the fact that I had not matched. I woke up feeling so anxious and unfortunately, the anxiety has not gone away. I am eager for this week to be over so that I will finally know, either way, what’s going to be happening next year. My friend Elizabeth talked about this process on her blog and I must say, I second everything she said – including the involuntary hospital commitment should I not match, for I am certain I will lose my mind! Here is her post about the match.
I will make sure to update the blog friday morning, until then, I will try to take it easy and distract myself by doing some window shopping online – BabyGap and Gymboree, to be exact!
Tonight we celebrated Opa and Oma Sysling’s 68th anniversary and Opa Woltil’s 61st birthday. We had a wonderful dinner and it was great to see Addie with them. Here are some pictures and videos from the night.
