Dear Adelaide,

What a month this has been! You took your first plane ride this month, and in fact, you were in 6 different planes during our trip. I say this because you probably will not remember since you slept on every flight. You also experienced really cold weather, along with snow, and everything that comes with that weather – thick jackets, big hats, snow suits and every other item that made it difficult for you to move! I am so amazed by you little girl. On every plane, train, subway, bus and car, we were surrounded by people who could not believe how good, how happy and smiley you were – and along with them, I could not believe how lucky I was, how lucky I am, to have such an adorable and wonderful child. You make being a Mommy easy because it is impossible not to smile at you or hug you, even when you are having a tough time. Who could resist such a cute little face!

Mommy and Daddy are still trying to figure out what color are your eyes. Daddy keeps saying they are brown, but I see them more as grey or green. You are certainly keeping us guessing! You are still a very happy baby, and you are talking more and more. A big change this month has been how well you are sitting on your own. You really like this position, especially because it made you discover those dangly things at the end of your legs: your feet!

I got you foot! Can't get away from me now!

I think you are also going through the teething process. You want everything in your mouth and you chew on it with your little gums. You have also started chewing on your bottom lip, which is really cute! You have also tried many new foods this month: sweet potatoes, green beans, squash, prunes (we were desperate after 4 days of nothing!), apple sauce, and bananas. We seem to like them all although you still make a funny face whenever you try something new. Inevitably, your mouth ends up opening for more, so we suspect your shudders are more about the texture than the taste.

Hmmm...bottom lip tastes so good!

We are still wondering what’s going on with your hair, little girl. The bald spot is finally starting to grow back, but the hair on the side of your hair seems to be pretty relaxed about growing, while the hair on top of your head seems to feel in a rush. It ultimately ends up looking like a comb-over, or better yet, a mohawk.

We want you to know how much we appreciated your patience and flexibility this month Munchkin, especially with all the traveling, change in weather and being out of your comfort zone for so long. You handled it beautifully. I am also glad that we were able to do this trip because you got to meet so many people and make new friends. We love you so much!
