Today was wonderful. We got up late, relaxed, picked up a few things at Target and then came home and watched movies. It was so nice to have no schedule since it feels like we have been on the go for the last 3 weeks or so. The holidays are wonderful but they sure are exhausting. Plus, I have not been feeling great (scratchy throat and runny nose), so it was nice to just take it easy today. We gave Addie her bath this morning and I looked back at old pictures of her in her bathtub and boy has she changed!

Adelaide also spent some time petting Bella today. Those two are becoming so cute together. They both seem fascinated by the other. Bella has been super excited about some of Addie’s new toys – namely the Winnie the Pooh that crawls and sings (Bella tried to herd it the other night) and the Iggle Piggle, a toy Marika and Will got her from Ireland that sings and makes what sounds like barking noises. Luckily, Bella only stares at them and does not try to chew or destroy them. We are so greatful for that because otherwise we would have to keep our house far more clean and picked up!

Last saturday night, we had our friends over to hang out and Addie was in a great mood. At one point, she started pulling the cover over her face and I would say peekaboo and she would laugh really hard. It seemed as though she understood that game, because she continued doing it for quite a while!

On the 27th, we went to my parents’ house for our final Christmas celebration. The gathering was our annual White Elephant celebration with the Robert family. I love White Elephants! Everyone brings a wrapped gift, and we each get a turn to pick a present or steal someone else’s. This year, Derek and I did pretty well! I ended up with $25 giftcard to Starbucks and Derek got a $25 giftcard to Chili’s and a hand shredder – actually, a handheld shredder might be less confusing, it shreds paper, not hands. :) Adelaide had fun moving from arms to arms getting love from everyone. My mom made a traditional Canadian meal which included tourtiere, creton, ragout and tarte au sucre. It was so yummy! Here are some pics from that celebration.
